Real World Work Examples
Take a look at some of the projects we have recently completed for business owners, home owners, and property managers just like you!
Ceiling Fan Repair
We were called to help in diagnosing and repairing a ceiling fan that had stopped working. With some troubleshooting we determined that the switch wasn’t the issue, nor was there any electrical problem between the switch and the fan; it was something inside the fan itself. The manufacturer was able to send a replacement part. Fortunately all we needed to do was replace the part and the issue was resolved!
Dry Wall Patch & Repair
Drywall patch and repairs are a common job. This is the “standard” method of patching drywall, where some wood is installed behind the patch to give it some extra structural integrity. A patch this small might be a good candidate for a California patch, but a towel hangar was going to be installed over the patch so it needed to be strong to prevent any future issues.
Furniture Assembly
This was a brand new home with new furniture being assembled and put into place. Furniture assembly can be a real headache, and can take quite longer than one might expect. This is a common job for a handyman to handle. We’ve found taking the time to carefully follow the manufacturers instructions helps a lot in preventing having to re-do anything further down the line.
Broken Lightbulb Extraction
This lightbulb had been broken and the cap was stuck inside the socket. It’s a very easy fix if you have a set of pliers. This is one of those things that only takes about 5 minutes to take care of and can be done in conjunction with other work that needs to be done on the property.
Bulkhead
This is a new home that had central air conditioning installed shortly after the home was built. The HVAC techs had left behind some holes in the walls and a pipe running along the ceiling in the kitchen. We were contacted to build a bulkhead to cover up the pipe, and to patch the holes in the walls.
Hidden Switch
A sheet of drywall had mistakenly been installed overtop of an emergency shutoff switch. There were several things to take care of in this home, and finding the shutoff switch was one of them. This was a tricky one as for some reason the switch couldn’t be found near the studs in the wall. A large section of the wall needed to be removed to locate the switch, then an access panel was installed so the homeowner could access the shutoff switch after the walls would be finished.
Shower Recaulking
We were contacted to replace the caulking on this shower, as it was discoloring and developing mold. Removing the old caulking took several hours of carefully scraping the surface. The surfaces were then scrubbed with bleach water, then scrubbed a second time with isopropyl alcohol. Then after 24 hours of drying, the new caulking was set in place. Good ventilation can help in preventing this.
